Ashfaq Hussain Zaidi (January 1, 1951 in Karachi, Pakistan - ), pen-name Ashfaq Hussain, is a leading modern Urdu poet. He is considered by many as the foremost expert on the life and works of Faiz Ahmed Faiz.
Zaidi studied at the University of Karachi prior to settling in Toronto, Canada in 1980. Since 1980, Ashfaq Hussain, through his organization 'Urdu International', has held numerous mushaira, which have featured several notable poets including Ahmed Faraz, Jon Elia, and Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi.
An ambassador of the Urdu language in North America, Zaidi currently heads the Urdu television channel ATN ARY Digital for Asian Television Network in Newmarket, Ontario. He is the host of a show titled 'Urdu Rang' (The colour of Urdu).
