Hello.
I'm new here (2002-08-20) and just updated the main Wiki How does one edit a page page (which is a clickable link that appears whenever you edit a Wiki page) with more information for new Wikipedians.
I used to worry about footnotes in Wikipedia, but that's been added, and LDC is working on the internal page link feature as well:
I actually added the page-anchor feature in the latest version of the software, but it's half-disabled now (you can specify a link [[pagename#fragment]], but there's no way to indentify the fragment itself). We are currently undergoing discussions about simplifying and reforming Wiki syntax, and there is not yet a consensus on what the syntax should be for specifying anchors (it's not as obvious as specifying links to them). When that's settled, I'll put back the feature with whatever syntax we decide on. --LDC
I've been mostly adding or editing archaeology pages for the past while since I've been working as a professional field worker for the past dozen years in Ontario, Canada. I've also been editing software documentation, playing jazz trombone, taking pictures from kites, sailing catamarans, raising a kitten, editing archaeological newsletters, making stone tools and I don't know what-all else.
I have a Tiny Home Page too, but I'm behind on updating it, as are we all.
Andy
