It has been shown to be more effective against Helicobacter pylori than antibiotics in the laboratory.(Tabak et al 2003) Long term ingestion of about 200mg per day has been effective in reducing some of the symptoms of Parkinson's Disease within six weeks of commencement. This may be due to it being more concentrated in the brain than ascorbic acid. Palmitoyl ascorbate (ascorbyl palmitate) is a powerful anti-oxidant.
