This is mangled, the original does not compare the bill with a cormoran specifically but adds "ou autre corbeau" - cormorants were believed to be a sea-going raven at that tim. Cf. "corvus marinus, "sea raven" etc, the latter known and used for cormorants as late as the 18th century. Dysmorodrepanis (talk) 09:03, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
