Ascot is a small agricultural town in Victoria, Australia, located on Ballarat - Maryborough Road, north of Ballarat, in the local government area of City of Ballarat. At the 2001 census, Ascot had a population of 219.[1]
[edit] Ghost town
Another town called Ascot previously existed in the Bendigo area. It was a gold-mining town located along the Midland Highway, north of Bendigo, in the local government area of City of Greater Bendigo. The town was surveyed in 1874 and proclaimed in 1875. It was separated from the town of Epsom by the Bendigo - Echuca railway line. Today the site is occupied by a golf course.
