Ascoglossum, abbreviated as Ascgm in horticultural trade, is a genus of epiphytic orchids in family Orchidaceae. It contains 2 species endemic to the Moluccas, New Guinea, the Philippines, and the Solomon Islands.
Ascoglossum (Ascgm.) forms several different intergeneric hybrids (nothogenera):
- Ascoglossum x Renanthera (Ren.): Renanthoglossum (Rngm.)
- Ascoglossum x Aerides (Aer.): Nonaara (Non.)
- Ascoglossum x Arachnis: Ngara (Ngara)
- Ascoglossum x Paraphalaenopsis: Ascoparanthera (Apn.)
- Ascoglossum x Phalaenopsis (Phal.): Dresslerara (Dres.)
- Ascoglossum x Rhynchostylis: Lauara (Lauara)
- Ascoglossum x Trichoglottis: Sheehanara (Shn.)
- Ascoglossum x Vanda: Pantapaara (Pntp.)
- Ascoglossum x Vandopsis: Freedara (Fdra.)
One of the RHS-registered primary hybrids is Ascoglossum Nina Rach (Ascoglossum purpureum x Renanthera monachica).
