Aschaffenburg Hauptbahnhof (usually translated from German as Aschaffenburg Central Station, short form: Aschaffenburg Hbf) is the Hauptbahnhof of Aschaffenburg in Germany.
The station was built in 1854 by the Ludwigs-West-Bahn. It remained largely unchanged until destroyed in a 1944 air raid, after which it was rebuilt in the style typical for the 1950s. In 1974, passenger service ended on the "Bachgaubahn" between Aschaffenburg and Höchst (Odenwald), including Großostheim. It was replaced by bus service. In 1982, a train accident resulted in 76 injuries, but no fatalities. In 2005, two platforms were renovated to accommodate longer ICE trains. In 2008, construction of a new modern station building will begin with completion set for 2010. Increased retail space and commuter parking is planned for the new station. A new bus terminal is currently under construction adjacent to the station which will allow for easier connections. It's expected to be completed in 2009. The station has InterCityExpress and InterCity services as well as regional connections to neighbouring towns and cities.
