[edit] Negativity

Is it just me or do the photos in this suggest a lot of negativity? "Crumbling," "dilapidated," "vacant" these are all used in the captions of the photos and suggest the demise of the town. However, the article doesn't talk about a decline and, instead, focuses on redevelopment. What are hte views on this? The photos seem to suggest one point of view (that Asbury Park's a piece of crap [pardon the French]) and the article suggests another (Asbury Park: Gettin' better every day). Thoughts? I totally agree-- the same thoughts passed through my head as I read it. Perhaps some new photos are in order? 68.192.12.161 17:56, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] have you ever been there?

talk it up all you want, this city is positively terrifying.

This is what it appears to be! The message I get is stay the h**l away! Not so! Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, this City is on the road to recovery, after a long delay. This town is booming, with trendy, upscale, shops, restaurants and glitz! I suggest you visit and draw your own conclusion! This is a great place to live and visit! [edit] I agree new pictures are needed

Asbury has lots of new development going on and the article needs to chronical the entire life of the city including the failed renewal of the 80's along with today's activity. DCwom 00:02, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notable Residents

Since construction on the Esperanza has been halted indefinitely, and thus no one actually lives there, is it accurate to list John Oates under notable residents? He's not really a "resident".Terrapin7 (talk) 20:09, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

Also, why is Springsteen listed here? The entry itself lists only Freehold and Long Branch. I've seen other sources listing apartments in Ocean Township and Bradley Beach. I've never seen anything mentioning him renting or owning a residence in Asbury Park. Without a citation, I think it should be removed.Terrapin7 (talk) 16:35, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
