[edit] Summary

In this picture, Halley crater is to the upper left, and Hind lies to the right of Halley. To the north of Halley is the southern rim of the much larger Hipparcus crater. In the lower left quadrant is a portion of the large Albategnius crater. Note the scar in the surface that passes along the western rim of Halley.

This image was taken during the Apollo 16 mapping metric sequence, revolution 28. The selenographic coordinates of this image are 9.20° S, 6° E. The picture was produced by cropping the Hi-res image, rotating it 90° counter-clockwise so that north is toward the top edge, then reducing it in size to 33%.
