[edit] Summary

This view from orbit is of terrain to the east of the Apollo 16 landing site. The irregular crater to the upper left is Zollner. At bottom-center is the well-defined Kant crater. Near the right edge, just below center, is the lunar mountain Mons Penck. Just visible along the bottom right of this photograph is the Ibn Rushd crater.

This image was taken during the Apollo 16 mapping metric sequence, revolution 18. The selenographic coordinates of this image are 9.00° S, 20.70° E. The picture was produced by rotating the image 90° counter-clockwise so that north is toward the top edge, reducing it in size by 30%, then cropping the picture around the edges.
