Arya Central School is a premier educational institution located at Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram -- opposite Vydyuthi Bhavan on the Pattom-Pottakuzhy road. The school is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. This school was founded along with Arya Kumar Ashram by Late Shri Krishnanand Acharya and his wife Smt. Gomathi.
The school flourished in the 1970s and 1980s under the able leadership of the (now late)Principal Sri N Sankaran Nayar who also taught English. He brought to the school the experience gained in the UK and at the Government Training College, Trivandrum.
Late Mrs. Gayathri Radhakrishnan -- daughter of the founders -- was later responsible for upbringing of the school and making it one of the leading schools in the district. After the death of Mrs.Gayathri Radhakrishnan, the school is managed by her three daughters. Her elder daughter Mrs. Ananthalaxmi is the current principal of the School. Her other daughters Mrs.Mytreyi and Mrs.Gargi are vice principals of the school.← It is one of the most prestigious institutions in the state which has produced outstanding results in the class 10 and 12 CBSE examinations for years.[citation needed].
