With more than 270 subsidiaries worldwide, arvato AG is one of the biggest internationally networked media and communication services providers. In fiscal year 2007, the group of companies that is part of Bertelsmann AG generated sales of € 4.9 bn. Arvato’s worldwide subsidiaries employ more than 50,000 people. Arvato AG comprises the divisions arvato services, arvato print, arvato digital services and arvato systems as well as the companies empolis, a provider of company-wide content and knowledge management solutions, and arvato mobile, a provider of digital entertainment content and interactive applications.

Arvato services is an international provider of customer communication and logistics services. Its services range from the systematic collection and exploitation of qualified addresses, to outsourcing of customer contacts to service centers, to developing and implementing customer loyalty programs and processing payment transactions. The logistics services provided go far beyond the delivery of products and coordinating and steering their shipment to customers: consulting, procurement/purchasing and production services are also offered, along with order management, warehousing, financial services, returns processing and repair services.

Arvato print’s services run the gamut from consulting and conception to preprint (image processing, layout, preparing the printing plates), print (offset, gravure, digital printing) and finishing (binding, personalization, addressing, delivery etc.), and also include supplementary services (warehousing, distribution etc.).

Arvato digital services is a vendor of integrated service packages for the video, audio, games and IT/technology sectors. Its service chain covers everything from post production and replication to fulfillment, from distribution/supply chain management and financial services to electronic content distribution, all backed by end-to-end IT systems.

The value chain ranges from consulting, conception, development and implementation, through to the operation of complex IT systems. The division includes arvato mobile (vendor of digital entertainment content and interactive applications) as well as empolis (content and knowledge management software). Arvato united with Satyam to offer innovative solutions for the medium-sized enterprise market in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
