Aruna Mountains (alias Arunachala, Poorvachala) where mentioned in the epic Mahabharata as the eastern boundary of the Bharata Varsha. It is mentioned as the place where the sun rises. It is identified to be the mountain ranges in Arunachal Pradesh.
