Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/YMCA Skate Camp
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I am new to authoring, but have been researching articles on wikipedia for years. To my surprise it is more difficult than I gathered to introduce an new article. The YMCA skate camp article will be on wikipedia sooner or later, thats a given. As for the initial comment, I am not sure I understand wiki vocabulary and definitions too well. The camp is highly acclaimed and notable. It is a shame a bigger and less spiritual instituion gets an article on wikipedia (Woodward Camp) and YMCA is left to fight the battle for a piece of www real estate. The article was a kernal that would have sprouted over months with inputs from various past Directors and thousands of campers that have grown and many have re-entered the camp community as staff others moved on to professional careers in skateboarding. This unique culture founded in 1984 will be documented in the wikipedia, but alas, I must learn the ways of the wiki first. If there is no patience for the article, then I must have patience with you all and the wikipedia myslef. If the YMCA gets shut down here, I'll try to come with a more concrete article in the future, but once again, Woodward camp has an article, and the YMCA skate camp does not. And that's wiki-wack! Please send me any info that may help the cause. How do I source and verify? email: rickyflip@excite.comRickyflip 21:51, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
