[edit] Bloger's essay

Bloger left a message for me on my talk page and asked me to reconsider my "delete" vote (I actually made a conditional keep, but that's beside the point). I have no reason to doubt anything Bloger writes about this, but there are still difficulties related to verifiability. It's my impression that this is a general problem in writing about haredi communities, which is amply demonstrated in the various disputes about Chabad. I certainly think that Satmar's position on Zionism is very noteworthy and should get full coverage, but I am not sure that this article is the best way to write about it. The guideline should be that a reader with only passing knowledge of Zionism and Judaism should be able to read an article and make sense of it, and there is simply too much that is unsaid and unverified. I would urge Bloger not to give up on the content he/she is trying to publish and edit, but think of other ways of doing so that are less confusing to the general public. --Leifern 12:41, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for responding. Since you’re Jewish and is seems from your user page that you have extensive knowledge on Judaism why not be so kind and edit the article - without making major differences in content – so that a reader with only passing knowledge of Zionism and Judaism should be able to read an article and make sense of it.

Or didn’t I understand your point ?

[edit] Another point

Not entirely relevant to the AFD, but there is still the problem that virtually every traditionally observant Jew would characterize himself/herself as a true Torah Jew (but would not necessarily agree or identify with the platform of the group in question), so there's also a disambiguation problem here. --Leifern 12:45, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

The full name of the group is “True Torah Jews against Zionism” but I figured it’s to long for a group name.

The only option was to change it to “Jews against Zionism” the problem with this is firstly it gets confused with “Jews not Zionists”(which is the Neturei Karta) in addition the main objective of the TTJ is not that there are Jews that are against Zionism but rather that there are “True Torah” Jews that are against Zionism.

[edit] my revert

I did a revert of a vote page. I think this deserves a full comment to make the why clear. Here was the change I was responding to: [1]. The reason I did this is that User:Leifern had changed two other people's postings on a vote page. My feeling is that there is no right to edit votes for content. I changed his vote back to reflect his change since I certainly believe he has the right to make this change for himself. jbolden1517Talk 13:06, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Stop editing

This discussion is closed. Unless I'm mistaken, this edit is inappropriate. I'm not reverting as I may be wrong, but if I'm not, then please remove the content. It can be placed on this page (the talk page). -Reuvenk[T][C] 18:35, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
