The article cites multiple ancient Greek texts but then uses this ambiguous phrase to qualify the citation:

  • "This word, as it is from late use in Ancient Greek, is not present in the major classical texts, but its root can be found in several of the most important authors, among others."
    • Homer: Homeric Hymns
    • Hippocrates: De Articulis
    • Aristophanes: Plutus
    • Xenophon: Oeconomicus
    • Euripides: Hercules Furens
    • Plato: Cratylus
    • Plato: The Laws
    • Theophrastus: De Causis Plantarum

So did these Greek authors ever use "skapsis" in the educational sense or is the article text just saying they used it in the agricultural sense? If they just used it in the agricultural sense, then they're really not sources and in fact are irrelevant to the article. --A. B. (talk) 13:12, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
