[edit] Sock puppets
"Gateman1997" refers to a "sock puppet army". What steps has he/she taken to establish that editors voting against deletion are in fact sock puppets? --Amroth 21:47, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, not everyone assumes good faith. You have to admit a flurry of new editors at an AFD is very suspicious. That's why I went to the trouble of doing some basic research on the contributors to this AFD. As indicated on the main AFD page, I doubt you and your colleagues are sockpuppets. Anyways, if someone really thinks you are a sockpuppet, procedures are in place to deal with it. BTW, welcome to Wikipedia and hope you stay. Samw 02:00, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
Sorry, Sam, but there's a big difference between not assuming good faith (which is reasonable) and assuming bad faith (which is what Gateman1997 did). I'll ask again: what steps did Gateman1997 take to verify his/her suspicion? If (as I strongly suspect) the answer is 'none', why did he/she think it was reasonable to make this assertion without any evidence? I'd also like to know who Michael Snow is and why he gets to archive the voting. Please understand that this isn't a troll - I'm genuinely interested in the answers.--Amroth 00:53, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
