Hi there, I am the author of this article and would like to clarify a few points made by Guy. Although this may be for naught I appreciate the due process and am in no way trying to drum up business for the web site or for my own vanity. Regarding the latter I have removed any reference to the founder.

[edit] Single Purpose Account

It is true that this account has focused on this article, but this should not be construed as a mere marketing ploy. I have been learning the Wiki system and will contribute on a host of topics, definitely becoming an active member of the wiki community. I chose this article as a starting point because I am the most knowledgeable person on this resource, which I fully believe merits inclusion on wiki. You are certainly entitled to disagree, but please do not call it pointless. SchoolAtlas, albeit not on the scale of Yahoo or Google, is a popular destination for the education community. It has a niche that should be considered relevant.

[edit] Traffic as sole criteria for "relevance"

The seemingly ready access to web statistics can too easily skew our perspective on what is valuable. SchoolAtlas, albeit humble when compared to Google, offers many tools for the education community. Unlike startups that gain tremendous "relevance" in less than a year (such as Myspace), schoolatlas is over 8 years old and has received millions of users since its inception. Further, Guy's analysis through the use of Alexa is inaccurate. If you notice the statistics, SchoolAtlas.com (the domain) has seen a drastic reduction in traffic. But a closer look will reveal that this is because of a redesign that directs users through the portal software at www.studyoffice.com The traffic on the latter domain has increased by an 300% and a whole 3.2 million positions. Certainly not Google, but relevant. Lastly, Guy mentions that most of the sites linking to SchoolAtlas are add-it yourself sites. This is not true. There are many libraries, school districts, colleges, and other educational (non add-it yourself) web sites that link to this site. Schoolat 21:28, 25 September 2006 (UTC)schoolat
