Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/SUI Simple Unique IDs
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In replying to comment - yes I did not the attribution off the page, and in response to this debate. The reason the attribution was there (the page is under-construction), was that I originated the idea in public discussions sometime ago (reffered then as WUID World Unique IDs) and Microsoft used the same technique and name in a number of its product - it was put there to establish prior invention (re the technique, documented by my name in various forums and correspondence). But I understand your concern with deletion, it should have said from the beginging "created by..., original proposal made by...," in drafting overly simplified it as "created by... and ...".
On "You've come to Wikipedia for the wrong reasons." I think you are right. I did indend to give full instruction, and have the wiki perform, as an editable host, as a complete reference to development, real world applications and third party software. I was wrong to do this.
I may disagree on the details re "notability" etc.,. but the above is a substantial and true criticism (misuse through misapphrension). On those grounds I agree it should be deleted. Perhaps, later I might write a smaller description, after sometime has passed and it has established itself (or not)?
I would like to contribute a future artcile on the "ebpub" e-book standard. I hope I have not overly damaged my reputation in this regard.
I appreciate your quality control, and the time taken to consider my article, I also now better appreciate the extent of policy and its solidity - many thanks.
What I was trying to do with the article was not compatible to Wikipedia's purpose, that is conceded without argument. That point is well made and substantial. I am happy to have it deleted under these circumstances.
