[edit] copyright question about content of articles deleted

I have been following the development and discussion of this article. My concern is that, to my knowledge, there is no other web resource that puts together the attempted research on astrology in this manner, which, in spite of the question of scientific credibility of sources, is more factual and neutral than other websites that discuss the issue (which are obviously either pro-astrology or passionately skeptical). So, my question is, since wiki editing is semi-anonymous and collaborative, what if one or more editors wanted to use the information gathered in this article to publish on a non-wiki website? What are the copyright issues for a deleted article? Zeusnoos 17:49, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

I can't answer this question in general, but my contributions have always been pro bono, so no copyright is attached to them. This would probably be true for most editors. I do feel, however, that keeping such content on Wikipedia serves the public better than anything else (due to exposure). Aquirata 00:07, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
"All of the information in Wikipedia is free for anyone to copy, modify for their own purposes, and redistribute or use as they see fit, as long as the new version grants the same freedoms to others and acknowledges the authors of the Wikipedia article used (a credit or backlink to the original article is sufficient for this)."
No editor has copyright over anything (including their personal page). See Wikipedia:About. Marskell 17:37, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
