I am amazed that since I became a member of wikipedia, I have noticed a gradual and discernible decline in the aggregate quality of edits and the quality of edits and discussion by some of the editors are so poor that they are unable to even access a simple topic from google. This is the precise reason that despite more than a million editors the Project has still to become worthy of any serious attention. Ultimately, the editors make the contents and if their basic knowledge base is poor, it gets reflected in many segments of community activities. I am amazed at this weaselly rant from an administrator and an experienced editor. "since I became a member of wikipedia, I have noticed a gradual and discernible decline..."- you didn't mean your becoming a member was the cause of the decline although it means as much, did you? "Access(ing) a simple topic from google" is something new to me and I fail to grasp its meaning. The deleted article which several editors thought patent nonsense (and none cared to defend, mind you) could reflect back on your argument involving "basic knowledge base".
