I could understand that looking back from what is nearly 2007 might make the BBC article seem to be not very consequential.

But, I would suggest that you take the history of that famous BBC posting in the context of its day.

Podcasting was still in its infancy. At that time, there were very few ways a podcast could get attention, differentiate itself as a quality product, and attract many listeners. I remember when that very influential BBC article was published. It was linked to by many, many websites as a landmark -- recognition that podcasting had arrived and that there were some podcasts that a long established journalistic source had recognized as being worthwhile.

Personally, I decided that was good enough reason to check the Jawbone Radio show out for myself. I did, and have listened to every episode since. It is the epitome of what has been referred to in podcasting as a "couplecast."

I would ask you to please think about the long term effect of your decision. Or, in contrast, think about the long ago examples that would serve as a counterpart. Jawbone Radio might be viewed in those contexts if not the "I Love Lucy," at least "The Dick Van Dyke Show" of the Podcasting medium.

Good luck with your important decision. Thanks for considering this input.
