Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/Hugin (software)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hugin software falls in the same category as PTgui, Pano2QTVR and PTLens promotional pages that were created around the same time by the same person. The Panorama Tools page was being used as a 'catch all' for Panorama software offerings that were associated. The Panorama Stitchers, Viewers and Utilities page is an attempt to combine this specialized software family into one unbiased / equal treatment page. This brings a sense of notability to the topic rather then a bunch of disassociated pages. Unless you already know a good deal about panorama photography, finding these pages is slim. Well, what is your bias? Sorry, but your user page looks like spam. I can't see anything wrong in having an article about Hugin (see the talk page.).

My user page points to a non-profit group of panorama associated members. It's funded by the same sponsors that support other panorama resourses on the net. John Spikowski 22:45, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD rules?

User:John Spikowski's edit was removed [1] with the comment "you can't nominate and vote at the same time." I'm not an AfD expert and that may be true. Nominating for AfD sort of infers a delete opinion. In any case deleting the comment was not the correct thing to do. It should of been crossed out and noted. Also, everyone, please keep in mind that an AfD is not a vote. (Requestion 20:25, 15 May 2007 (UTC))

John, I don't see the point in listing all those who have a different opinion than yours. It looks as if you want to make those with a different opinion look biased. The AfD rules and etiquette clearly points out that users familiar with a topic are invited to comment in such a debate. You as a nominater should be the first to follow the rules and stay neutral. Please delete the above list, I personally feel harrased by finding my name in such a list. I also ask you as the nominator to give everyone involved a chance to comment in the debate how they are connected with the article. It may be a good idea if the nominator starts with declaring his own interests. I hope we can find a consensus in a proper debate. Einemnet 08:44, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
