Eiland is located at Latitude 50° 52' 60N, Longitude 4° 0' 0E, and at an altitude of 31 meters.

The population of Eiland and the surrounding area is estimated at 71061, though the city council may incorporate the village of Berg and increase the population to over 100,000. This would make it the largest city in the province.

Eiland was originally a farming district of Oordegemsestraat, however the population grew past the Oordegemsestraat due to its location as a commercial crossroads. Eiland is now larger than Oordegemsestraat, and is the largest commercial entity in the region, rivaled only by Gotem?

Comment Most likely the Gotem referred to here is the other one syphonbyte was talking about. Information on Eiland is here. As you can see, it is in a completely different province and is probably near the other Gotem. Or, perhaps, the "region" is broad and covers different provinces (the "Bible Belt" region in the US for example). --Charlesxavier 03:39, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
