Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/Giger's Alien

Why was the result a redirect? I was under the impression the consensus was to delete. There are no pages that link to Giger's Alien that aren't to do with this AfD. Pointless. Driller thriller 01:19, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Go here to see Quarl's reasoning for using a redirect over deletion for a somewhat similar AfD case. The discussion pages are archived monthly, so make sure to check User_talk:Quarl/Archive_2007-03 after 2007 March is over. Concerning pointlessness, redirects are sometimes encouraged to avoid accidental linking and duplicate articles. Furthermore, this redirect does not violate any of the reasons for deletion of the redirect; it is not more difficult or confusing to find the beast's page, nor is it an offensive redirect as phallus-headed she-beast might be (original design accuracy aside, though I can think of worse), nor is the redirect pointing at something it should not (a talk page, a WP namespace, a non existent page, etc). --Trakon 02:37, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
