Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/First World Problems

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

this is a fascinating conundrum in the modern world and wikipedia desperately needs to stay on top of stuff like this to stay relevant.

also, ironically, having your wikipedia article marked for deletion is perhaps the ultimate FWP. as a mark of wikipedia's hipness (hipsters love irony!) perhaps the article could be left in this state indefinitely?

Ironically, I found THIS site which explains your little "joke" and is attacking fellow editors. Wildthing61476 20:59, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Whats your problem with this entry? Dont want to be taken to task for your first world opulence? Why do you want to equivocate the suffering of the third world with the first world? Do you own stock in nike? Did you help funnel money to the Contras? Abossie 22:53, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Our problem, unsurprisingly enough, is that this article violates Wikipedia policy and guidelines, since this is neither an advocacy forum, a blog, a free webhost or a public affairs website. It is nothing more than a straw man argument to presume that one can only assert the encyclopedia's criteria for entry out of sinister motives, and it borders on farce to infer that deleting this article will materially affect the misery of the world's poor.  RGTraynor  23:39, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

As long as you admit you are trying to cover up the real problems in the world. Abossie 01:10, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
