Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/ExtraLife

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I am pretty new around here. Can someone explain why this page us up for deletion?

Because someone (User:Mikkalai) nominated it, basically. (The expressed reason was that it isn't notable enough of a subject.) It sounds like you are new to the deletion process—you may find Wikipedia:Guide to Votes for deletion helpful. By the way, welcome to Wikipedia! You may have already figured this out, but you can sign posts on talk pages by typing "~~~~". That way we know who we're talking to. :) -Aranel ("Sarah") 00:28, 14 July 2005 (UTC)

Okay, I am every learning. Concerning the deletion does this webcomic not fit the Alternate Proposal listed on this page? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:COMIC Thanks for the tip AfterSpencer 13:22, 14 July 2005 (UTC)

It looks like it does, although I haven't investigated enough to know how regularly it really updates. However, the whole reason it's an alternate proposal is that not everyone agrees it should be used. (In fact, since it's listed as the alternate, probably slightly less people prefer it.) Personally, I think 100 articles and 33 weeks is too lenient. (Both require dedication and effort on the part of the writer. But hard work alone does not qualify one for a Wikipedia article.) But every individual editor is free to choose what standard they prefer. -Aranel ("Sarah") 17:57, 14 July 2005 (UTC)

I agree with you 100 articles and 33 weeks is pretty lenient. Of course somthing that is considered nonnotable to one may not be nonnotable to another. However, this is a group project so concensus rules - and I am okay with that. Perhaps at a later date ExtraLife will be concidered notable to the concensus : ) AfterSpencer 18:44, 14 July 2005 (UTC)
