Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/Cheryl Bentov

I find it difficult to understand why this article was not simply redirected to Mordechai Vanunu rather than being deleted, so I have now done this. Egdirf (talk) 09:20, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Why was it deleted at all? It contains a lot of background information about Bentov that is not in the Vanunu article. If the objection is that the Bentov and Vanunu articles overlap, then the information from the Bentov article needs to be moved into the Vanunu article. But it doesn't fit there, hence warrants its own article. (OK, now I've looked at the non-debate about deletion, scheduled around Thanksgiving and with only two votes. If the argument really is that Bentov is not a worthy subject because she's only famous due to the Vanunu kidnapping, then by the same logic the Seung-Hui Cho article should be deleted as overlapping with the Virginia Tech massacre article. After all, he's only famous because of the massacre, so information about him should be in that article. It's a stupid argument, but it seems to be the argument used here. -Rjyanco (talk) 14:47, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
