I notice that wikipedia is considering the term "English" as a cultural definition for some cultural project or other, and I am making comments at that site which I think you should start taking more seriously. I am not "English", even though I tick off the census box in Canada that says I am English to prevent anyone from thinking I am French. It is a political decision which is made in respect to funding in Canada. Like I said, in the title page of the 'Anglosaxoncelt' the DNA project is defining this term, and you people at wikipedia have to take it more seriously. You are dismissing me without doing any genuine research. I believe this whole designation of "English" as a culture seems to be politically motivated. If you delete 'Anglosaxoncelt' then you also have to delete 'English' from the wikipedia cultural project. Millions upon millions upon millions of people are of anglosaxoncelt descent because of the intermarriage within the UK, Ireland and the rest of the world. I know, because I am an anglosaxoncelt, Many of my ancesters were anglo/saxons, many more celts. I have Taylor, Beardsell, Toombs and MacGillivary in my ancestral line starting right at the grandparents. I think people from England may be having too much input into this discussion; it's politically motivated, and I do think you truly have to take me more seriously. Most so-called "English" north Americans have a mingling of their lineage. Few are pure celtic or anglo/saxon, meaning virtually none are English. When we say we are English we are referring to the language, not our blood. The 'English' page at wikipedia is mistakenly assuming that we are of 'English' blood. I am shocked that you would so quickly propose such an important word as anglosaxoncelt for deletion without doing even a moment of research.

The word "angosaxoncelt" does not exist in common usage anywhere in the world. Whikipedia is not a place for original research. See WP:OR. Geoffrey Spear 20:05, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
