Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/2012 Summer Olympic development

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Reasons for keeping this article separate:

  1. The 2012 Summer Olympics article will naturally expand and it will only need to be merged out again
  2. The 2012 Summer Olympics article should be a summary of the key things and focusing too much on one aspect detracts from the article
  3. The current arrangement is simple and does not confuse readers, with brief overviews in 2012 Summer Olympics clearly linking to the more informative articles.
  4. The most important announcements are included in the overview in the 2012 Summer Olympics article, with smaller ones (such as the financial director receiving an award) not needing to be mentioned there
  5. The reasons given by CalJW are confused, with much of what he says be about the details removed due to duplication with the London 2012 Olympic bid
  6. This nomination was premature and spawned by a disagreement that CalJW had with something else I did, not giving time for discussion or for the article to develop properly
  7. The article has the option of remaining as a list or becoming more verbose - if that were to happen then it would certainly be too large and worthy of its own article
  8. The contents can be rearranged in the future, splitting this article into others if necessary
