[edit] Very cool

Wow, I really like this. It's a non-bitey way to get new users to know our policies, and it would slow down vandalism a little bit and lessen the admin workload if it were made official. Is there any way to do what Lucasbfr suggested and make this what non-autoconfirmed users see when they try to create an article? If this happened, I don't think I would be against letting anons create pages anymore. Grandmasterka 02:22, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

It can be put on a message that people see when they try to create an article. However, the edit window will still be below it. AFAIK, there is no way to make it mandatory for any user group without a software change (bug Gmaxwell about that). Also, it still needs some work. You can see some other categories that are not yet done. These should be done in the same format as the others. I've also talked with User:FT2 about this and he suggested it be split into more pages with less text, that might be done in the future. Now that anon page creation is not imminent, there is less of a rush and more time to work. Mr.Z-man 02:29, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] suggested sectioning

This is really good, can I suggest

  • A Band or Group
  • An Album
  • A game
  • A movie

be added to the list as there are always going to be new ones of these added and many are by new editors. Gnangarra 13:07, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] This is great! ... How can I help?

This is great! This is exactly what I was trying to get at with this suggestion. We should definitely find room for a link to this in the new article text. I think we could do more to point people at infoboxes and suggested sections. I guess that's covered in the relevant WikiProject, but it's worth making more obvious. I think we need to do one for: schools, bands, and fictional characters. How can I help? Bovlb (talk) 00:36, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Another thing we could include is pointers to the specific and general naming conventions. (Yes, I saw the text in the creation input box.) Bovlb (talk) 00:41, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
