[edit] Yak shaving
AfDs for this article:
no reliable sources apart from its origin and a very shaky notability - its claim is unsourced, and only a few blogs have picked up on the term. Will (talk) 07:37, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- Delete I've read the previous nominations and still can't find a reason to keep this article. Not hardly notable IMO. Wikidudeman (talk) 13:30, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- Keep, a major source is the Jargon File, a dictionary of hacker slang which has been published in book form. --Dhartung | Talk 15:59, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- Delete. Wikipedia is not a dictionary, and there is an entry on yak shaving on wiktionary, which is. Moonriddengirl 16:12, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- Transwiki to wiki dictionary as it is just a definition now. Corpx 16:19, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- Delete - It admits it's a neologism. How much does it take to cite this with WP:NEO? Cool Bluetalk to me 21:03, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- Delete per WP:N and WP:NEO. VanTucky (talk) 22:27, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- Keep; it's a widely used expression, though the article could use improvement. SparsityProblem 23:46, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- Keep, as there may be "reliable sources" for a neologism per WP:NEO, section 3. Bearian 00:58, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- Keep, I first read about this term in Make Magazine (issue #1 I believe). I've been using it ever since and pointing friends to this article. torypatnoe
- Keep Widely used and moderately amusing.--Patented duck 04:44, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
- Delete - There is not much to say about Yak shaving, at least not much if you use WP:RS material independent of the topic itself. This topic is not something that is going to grow over time - it seems to have run its 15 minutes of fame course. If the results are keep, I would not have a problem with a quick turn around on posting AfD #4 for this article. -- Jreferee (Talk) 04:46, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
