White Dawg was proposed for deletion. This page is an archive of the discussion about the proposed deletion. This page is no longer live. Further comments should be made on the article's talk page rather than here so that this page is preserved as an historic record. The result of the debate was to keep.
Only one Google hit for "White Dawg" "I Wanna Lick the Pussy". The original poster's edit summary is also educational. RickK 08:19, Nov 25, 2004 (UTC)

- Delete? When I'm on this weed, I don't really give a fuck. All I wanna do is thug. Bring it on, bring it on, bitch buckle up. BrowardPlaya 18:28, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- I agree. Delete. Stellertony 09:28, Nov 25, 2004 (UTC)
- Keep a minor but notable rapper; at the very worst, a high-profile flop. Earnest Usenet discussion since February 1999 clearly, clearly establishes notability. ("Who could forget the lyrical onslaught and cavalcade of Source ads for none others than WHITE DAWG," writes an obvious non-fan.) Samaritan 10:24, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- I just looked him up on a peer-to-peer system, and he has more hits than other artists with whom I'm familiar and who have Wikipedia entries, showing his files are being traded now. "Game Over" seems to be his greatest hit in this context. Samaritan 19:18, 26 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Weak keep - the guy does show up on Amazon, where his two CDs have received 28 reviews, mostly positive. And my google search for "White Dawg" returns 2,600 hits. That suggests he's notable to some people, I guess. Spangineer 14:41, Nov 25, 2004 (UTC)
- Tack on another 1,010 hits for "WhiteDawg" as well. —RaD Man (talk) 18:55, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. Nobody in particular. Wile E. Heresiarch 16:38, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- KEEP We be some game runners. Talk shit get split. We be opening up a can of whoop ass on yo bitch ass. You heard what I said? I said you heard what I said? BrowardPlaya 18:13, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)

- Extreme Keep, this is hillarious. —RaD Man (talk) 18:38, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. Does BrowardPlaya really think he is threatening us? Fire Star 18:49, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Fire Star, although you're not under any obligation to, would you please explain your delete vote? This artist garners a combined 3,650 hits on Google, all of which appear to be relevant. —RaD Man (talk) 18:54, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- The user also vandalized the Hip hop music article by replacing a photo of a notable act with one of his idol (or himself, whichever it is) White Dawg. RickK 20:20, Nov 25, 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. One single with an Amazon Music sales rank of 460,045, and an album ranked 180,673, and apparently no recordings expected in the future--his 15 minutes were up in the last century. 3K google hits not that impressive--a randomly picked name from the allmusic search results for White Dawg, "Phife Dawg", gets 23K. My mom's book gets almost 1000 hits, and has a sales rank of 271,423, and I'm not about to write an article about it. Niteowlneils 19:50, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Jesus Keep* (That's a step above "extreme," for those of you non-Christians out there). The world needs more real, unbiased information about thugrappers. Besides, who knows what this guy's gonna do in the future? Mirandom 20:15, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Weak delete. Only 2600 Google hits for a supposedly notable rapper isn't much... and considering BrowardPlaya/RadMan's history here, I think this one is good to delete. (And a couple of the keep votes appear to be from sockpuppets of BrowardPlaya...) --Idont Havaname 23:01, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)- Why thank you, Mr. Idont Havaname. Please curb your personal attacks. Or bite me, whichever works for you. —[[User:Radman1|RaD Man
- Sorry, I didn't know BrowardPlaya wasn't you until I went to your user page. But delete this anyway. --Idont Havaname 18:59, 28 Nov 2004 (UTC)

- Delete Not notable enough. --fvw* 00:31, 2004 Nov 26 (UTC)
- This discussion does raise a good point: what does it mean for a musical artist to be considered 'notable'? If BrowardPlaya were far more civil in his discussions instead of vandalizing and using profanity all the time I'd be more inclined to say keep.
As is, abstain and wait for more discussion. rernst 01:00, 26 Nov 2004 (UTC)- Rernst, please don't let another Wikipedian's jackassery influence your vote. We're here to serve Wikipedia and our readers, are we not? —RaD Man (talk) 21:52, 27 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Change vote to Keep. Finally an encyclopedic version has arisen from the ash produced by this conflict. - rernst 00:56, 3 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Weak keep. But this article definately needs cleanup... --L33tminion | (talk) 02:45, Nov 26, 2004 (UTC)
- Weak keep. For such an allegedly notable rapper, most of the Google hits are lyrics archives and Amazon.com reviews; you have to wade through the results to get actual information. -Sean Curtin 03:12, Nov 26, 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. Not notable enough (yet). Nonsense spouting sockpuppets also make me to lean towards deletion. jni 10:45, 26 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Weak Keep. An All Music article shows that this fellow had a top 20 rap hit back in 1999 and describes "I Wanna Lick the Pussy" as a blub hit in 1994 1 The article also needs a cleanup which I hope to do this weekend along with work on the Lil Jon article. Capitalistroadster 12:19, 26 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Weak keep, but I hope BrowardPlaya follows up with an article about the Icy Hot Stuntaz. —tregoweth 19:17, Nov 28, 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. Seems notable enough.
