Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Trevor Price

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I created an initial page with mininal content for Trevor Price about two weeks ago, intending to expand it over time, for example, by contacting Mr.Price and obtaining a sample image, etc.

The page was immediately marked for speedy delete. I contested, and had time at that time to write a short note on the talk page, prior to contesting properly. Next day, the article was gone.

So much for review prior to deletion; the person who created the page and who knew about the subject was not involved in the deletion discussion.

I then re-created the page so that the deletion discussion would occur again except this time with my participation. The page was immediately deleted and blocked from being created; I was directed at deletion review and asked "not to continue my attempts to re-create the page".

You'll excuse me feeling a bit irate at this point.

So, finally, now, I have some time; I wish to proposed that Trevor Price should have a page.

He is a painter, I came across his work in a local gallery (he is quite well exhibited - the States, the UK, Europe, etc) and I wondered who he was. There was no page on the wiki, so I created one. In fact, I've since bought one of his paintings, which was 3k USD. If a man can sell paintings for a couple of k each and he's exhibited globally, I think he warrents a page.

This is a deletion review matter, and really needs to be raised there. Sam Blacketer 18:40, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
