- Keep - Writer for the New Yorker, publisher of multiple books, at least one of which sold well...I think he passes WP:NOT. Perhaps the cause would be better served by adding cite tags to the article. Vrac (talk) 06:52, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

- Keep. His book, 'The Orientalist', received a fair amount of coverage from reliable sources, and he seems fairly notable himself. The article could use better sourcing, though. Terraxos (talk) 02:35, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
