[edit] The Comedian's Comedian
Nomination for deletion Another trivial cheap-to-make TV clipshow with random celebrity talking heads with the excuse that they're "industry insiders" (there are a few internationally well-known names in there plus some well-known British celebs plus a bunch of C-listers (plus Ozzy Ozbourne?)[1]} who are going to judge the best of X in the world ever - even though most of the talking heads are British, with the result that the list is heavily skewed in favour of UK comedians, with a sizable chunk of Americans (but gotta keep it recognizable for the general British tv audience, so no Lenny Bruce, for instance) , and hardly anyone else. Many "best of X ever" lists are compiled by magazines, tv shows, websites all the time - it's a cheap, easy excuse for filler content/talking head + comedy clips for 3 hours; most of these lists have little or no authority and this is one of them. Unencyclopedic/listcruft.
For a similar afd with similar arguments for a very similar program by the same company (seems to specialize somewhat in this kind of thing[2]) which produced The Comedian's Comedian, see Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/The_Ultimate_Sitcom_2nd_nomination. Bwithh 01:54, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

- Delete, non-notable show. JIP | Talk 09:16, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not too fussed if it stays or goes, but I would point out that the thing that sets it apart from the rest of the channel 4 "top 100" shows is that we know who voted - it was a panel of highly respeted comediens, the likes of Cleese, Palin, Mason and Cryer. For this reason I would say it had some weight to it to make it notable.--Crestville 12:55, 25 November 2006 (UTC)~
- Strong delete- Not very notable. Arctic-Editor 15:28, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
- Extreme speedy delete, copyright violation of the network's intellectual property. A mention of the award in the Peter Cook article might be a propos, and maybe even mentions in the top ten, but nothing further. User:Zoe|(talk) 23:23, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
