[edit] Statement syntax (MySQL)
Delete. Want to know SQL? See the SQL article. Want to know the vendor-specific detail? RTFM. Wikipedia is not a manual. Minghong 12:01, 16 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Keep because SQL syntax is extremely widely used, including in Vfd discussins. But don't let it get too detailed, should just be general explanation illustrative examples. Kappa 13:16, 16 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- I believe it's useful, but as a primary text it belongs in wikisource. Radiant_* 15:11, Mar 16, 2005 (UTC)

- Wikipedia is not a manual ... but Wikibooks is a manual (or, rather, a collection of manuals). There's probably a need for a Wikibooks:Using MySQL book on the Wikibooks:Using open source software section of the Wikibooks:IT bookshelf, given that the MySQL manual isn't GFDL. However, this isn't a particularly good starting point. This article isn't even as good as the Wikibooks:Programming:SQL book that already exists on WikiBooks. No need to Transwiki as WikiBooks already has better. Delete. Uncle G 11:57, 2005 Mar 17 (UTC)
- Keep or redirect, whichever is better. Not everyone knows about Wikibooks (I've never accessed the site). Having something on this subject is very relevant since it is a common error seen in Wikipedia use. If it is described on an FAQ here somewhere, then the redirect should go there. 23skidoo 19:29, 17 Mar 2005 (UTC)
