[edit] Spike (film)
Keep - For following reasons:
1. Annonymous user - Article put up by User:64.107.144.42, whose only contributions as of yet have been putting this article up for deletion and a comment on the talk page of the article:
-
- "Why is this here? There is never, ever going to be a Spike movie. I move that this article be petitioned for deletion."
It is true that there may not be a Spike movie, but 64.107.144.42 has no evidence to prove as such. The article clearly states that the project has yet to be greenlit, but the last that has been heard about it, has indicated it is still possible; filmmaker Joss Whedon appeared on the UK TV Channel, MTV Screenplay, he announced he was still trying to get the Spike movie made (see article). This was in March 2006.
2. Verifiable - The article is one of the tiny minority of articles on wikipedia that actually properly verifies all of its statements and uses 9 footnotes to support everything written in the article.
3. Notability - Spike (film) is presently the only possibility of a proper continuation of stories that were told in the TV series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. IMO this makes it not just notable but important to the millions of fans of this fictional universe, especially the many of those fans who are unaware of the possibility of such a project. This doesn't include most wikipedians, but nonetheless.. we don't delete articles just because the majority of wikipedians are not interested in them, we respect that a minority may have need/use for articles
Wikipedia can be useful for listing films far ahead of their release dates: e.g. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (film) is currectly estimated to be released in November 2008.
The article correctly contains the appropiate future-film template, which looks like this:
This article or section contains information about one or more scheduled or expected future films. It may contain information of a speculative nature and the content may change dramatically as the film's release approaches and more information becomes available. |

Keep - I agree with Buffyverse. Well reasoned arguments. --Bdoserror 01:13, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
Keep--maybe Merge -- If it is merged with other Undeveloped Buffyverse Projects, the article would be Huge. HUGE I say. There's a lot of information that has been posted on it, which is both surprising and comendable. Majin Gojira 01:51, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
Keep -- agree with the above points: if it were mostly speculation it would be a shoe-in for deletion, but the article is suprisingly well referenced and seems to be legitimately informative. BarkingDoc
No consensus -- if it does ever happen I'll be going to watch it just for Illyria, but right now this is about as likely as Ripper. Also; when arguing notability, any reference to your own opinions ("IMO this makes it not just notable...") is going to harm your argument. Be advised. Kinitawowi 00:23, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
This article has been up for deletion for weeks. I have tried contacting an administrator several days ago but they have not been available to close the debate. With no delete votes, all votes made to keep, and the annoymous wikipedian who nominated it for deletion not even voting on this page themselves, it seems sensible to close this debate (see Wikipedia:Deletion process#Non-Administrators closing discussions) -- Paxomen 08:30, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
