The result was Withdrawn. Members of state legislatures are notable - the jury is still out for mayors of cities with 97k people. Carlossuarez46 02:43, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Robert Reichert
Delete another unsourced one-line blp of another mayor of Macon, Georgia Carlossuarez46 00:35, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- Delete, does not assert notability. Fee Fi Foe Fum 00:47, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- Weak keep This guy just got elected, and I mean just... as in, today. Plenty of news coverage, obviously. It's hard to say exactly where the bar of notability lies with regard to mayors, but Macon is not a small town by any means, with a population of nearly half a million. I'm going to say keep. - The town has a pop of less than 100k. Fee Fi Foe Fum 01:36, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

- The population of the city proper is just under 100,000. However, the urban area (pretty much the geographic area that uses "Macon, GA" as part of its mailing address) is just under 380,000 and the metro area is just under 480,000. (This is according to the WP article on Macon). The Census Bureau's American Community Survey in 2003 puts the "household population" at 325,000.[1]. LaMenta3 01:44, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

- Presumably only those in the city limits have electorship rights on who will be the mayor of Macon, GA. Carlossuarez46 02:41, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- Keep Again, short and unsourced are surmountable problems and are not reasons for deletion. The question is not, "Is the article sourced?" But rather, "Could the article be sourced?" If the answer to the latter is 'yes,' then sourcing cannot be a reason for deletion. Article length is NEVER a reason for deletion. Further, Macon is a town that is significant both to Georgia and American history, and it has a significant impact on the southern economy. Population aside (I don't even know what it is these days, and it differs whether you count the suburbs outside of the city proper), that makes the town significant enough to have its past and present leaders be notable. - Keep. Mayor of a reasonably significant city, former member of the Georgia Legislative Assembly, and a fair bit of media coverage (he won 96% of the mayoral vote, but in an election with a very small turnout). Hal peridol 01:52, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
