[edit] Meredith Jung-En Woo
20 Google hits. Yes, she's written books, but should we really have an article about every professor out there? --Khoikhoi 03:35, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
- Weak Keep An Amazon.com search for Meredith Jung-En Woo [1] shows that she seems to be writing under her married name, Meredith Woo-Cumings. That name gets 944 hits. [2]. -- Vary | Talk 05:49, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
- Weak Keep, borderline notability as she has written a couple of books --TBC??? ??? ??? 05:54, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
- Keep Published prof, and served on a presidental commission. Mike (T C) 06:32, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
- Strong keep & improve notable academic and author. The article is a c&p from the university website - is that kosher? I'll rewrite if no one else wants to. She's written books, she's a professor at a major university, etc. As I've said in previous AfD's, established academic authors and researchers are as notable as most retired third-basemen or middling South-African field hockey players. Bobby P. Smith Sr. Jr. 13:06, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
- Strong Keep. What, she's written seven books and is notable as a published author, but she's done too much other stuff, and is therefore too notable to include? Monicasdude 14:22, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
- Keep. This article needs a bit of a touch-up, but the subject is definitely notable. Perhaps a {{cleanup}} tag would be more appropriate? Isopropyl 20:02, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
- Strong keep. Definitely notable (I'd heard of her, for one). Known under a number of names, most often Meredith Woo-Cumings (missing from the article!), which means a Google search for "Meredith Jung-En Woo", an unlikely use by itself by a Korean-born person living in the US, would not reflect her importance. Article obviously needs work, though. ProhibitOnions 23:58, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
- Keep Too important a person --Masssiveego 08:07, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
- Strong Keep & improve Professor Woo has recently changed her name to drop the Cumings part. This article was added because she is mentioned at her husband Bruce Cumings' Wikipedia page with what was an empty link. This page was a first attempt at filling in that blank in Wikipedia. Additional content and improvement edits are very welcome! She is very prominent in the study of Korea, consulting widely, participating in a presidential commission, etc. She is a prominent professor in a very high- profile department.
