The result was delete. WP:BLP1E seems to summarize why, except the guy is dead, but I think that portion of the guideline applies both ways. WP:INHERITED also applies; not every victim of militant conflict in the Middle East will be notable enough to have their own article, even though many people push towards it due to the current nature of the issue.   • Keep. Plenty of sources to be found (I've put one of them in the article), and there's no requirement in the notability guidelines for a subject to be an anomaly. Phil Bridger (talk) 22:33, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
  • Delete. Yes, there are plenty of news reports on the beheading, but this seems to be a classic case of someone that received news coverage for one event. Looks like a news item rather than an encyclopedia article to me.--Kubigula (talk) 16:39, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
