[edit] Islamic Internet sites
Wikipedia is not a mere collections of external links or Internet directories. There is nothing wrong with adding a list of content-relevant links to an article; however, excessive lists can dwarf articles and detract from the purpose of Wikipedia. Bob 18:30, 17 November 2005 (UTC)
- keep "excessive lists can dwarf articles"? What article? This is a article about internet sites, how is it going to get dwarfed by doing what it claims, listing them? please see nominators contribution list: [1] --Striver 22:49, 17 November 2005 (UTC)
- comment WP:NOT does not forbid this article, it does not contain a single external link, so in no way is it a link farm. It list prominent and notable sites. --Striver 22:51, 17 November 2005 (UTC)
- Weak delete because the criteria for inclusion are not clear (what makes a site prominent and notable?) and the Alexa rankings are likely to become unmaintainable. If these criticisms are addressed before the end of the AfD, please disregard this vote. Also, if keeping, either move to List of Islamic Internet sites or expand the article to contain discussion as well as a list. — Haeleth Talk 23:24, 17 November 2005 (UTC)
- How about having more than x "Other sites that link to this site" or some other circumstance? I do suport a rename to List of Islamic Internet sites. A discusion and description can be in the article of the relevant site.--Striver 00:08, 18 November 2005 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Websites is just a proposal. --Striver 02:38, 18 November 2005 (UTC)
- Delete, I don't believe there are more than 5 or so really notable sites about Islam online... so, they don't really deserve a page... and I think this page is helping to make it seem like it's okay to create articles on lots of non-notable sites. For any type of keep we'd have to have a well clarified policy of what was acceptable. gren グレン 03:30, 18 November 2005 (UTC)
