[edit] Strong Keep
This is an important article because the term, "Greater Iran" has always been recognized and respected by scholars and historians. Greater Iran is the area where the Persian culture to this day still dominates. This article must be kept intact and expanded on. As it is a different issue than "Iranian Langauges" this article must remain.
[edit] Greater Iran!!
Who thought we should have an independant article for that? Is it an offical or internationally recognized area? Is it a country? Is it a widely used term? So I suggest to delete or merge it with Iranian languages.Diyako Talk + 17:30, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
Strong Keep There is nothing inappropriate or contraversial about this article. The term "Greater Iran" has been used by several Iranolgists such as the late, great Richard Nelson Frye, author of the book Greater Iran. --Houshyar 18:32, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
- Comment Yes but Please read what wikipedia is not. Whether some Iranologist used a term for such areas it does not mean that it belongs here. Maybe we should move it to other wiki projects.Diyako Talk + 18:35, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
Strong Keep The aricle seems to be factual and in accordance with Wikipedia`s policies.Zmmz 20:22, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
- Comment There was a similar article called Greater India based on some sources. It defined Greater India as:
- "This socio-cultural region is now of the modern nations of (from the west) Iran (Seistan-Balochistan provinces), Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, Nepal, Bhutan, the trans-Tsangpo and Yunnan regions of China, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Maldives, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Brunei, East Timor, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore, the Mauritius,Maldives,Seychelles,Comoros and other islands of the Indian Ocean."
I haven't gone into why it was redirected to Undivided India, but maybe that case can be studied here. deeptrivia (talk) 21:06, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

- Comment Dear Zereshk, also there are many articles which have been opposed by some users despite of being much more known in the world. I thought it is good to suggest to delete that. Diyako Talk + 15:15, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
Speedy Keep The deletion of this article was discussed on the talk page, and even the user Diyako who has proposed now agreed to keep it! --Kash 00:17, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
- User has not even reported this on the talk page before posting it up for deletion! I believe this should suppor the very quick Speedy Keep indeed. --Kash 00:41, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
- Keep per above. deeptrivia (talk) 01:43, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
- Weak keep. Although I think the contents of the article are disputable (they don't exactly follow the source's definition), deleting the entire article is not a good idea since there's already a book written on the subject. AucamanTalk 01:56, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
- Strong keep. The term is used by many Iranoligists and scholars. --ManiF 05:32, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

- Strong keep The term greater Iran is used by Iranoligists and historians very often and should be defined properly. all the information can not be inserted into another article as it was suggested. It is detailed enough to need its own article. Gol 07:08, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
