[edit] Edward Forchion
Keep- The man was the subject of an interview done for CNN Headline News primetime-- granted it was done in jest, but this not worthy of deletion. Delete Non-notable perennial candidate --LyonsTwp,IL. 16:45, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- Weak Keep - He ran for governor, but most of his citations are for his website, njweedman or whatever. It it political though and I tend to err on the side of caution of policital stuff like that. Chris Kreider 17:16, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- Weak Delete/Merge - While I agree with Chris that 'politicians' are often notable, it is important to recognize that Forchion is not a politician. He does not run for office with the intention of winning, but rather to make a point. At best, the article should be cut down to a short paragraph and moved here. Otherwise it should be deleted. -bobby 17:25, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- Comment - I kind of agree about the making a point comment, but nobody runs for office with out the desire to win. As much as I may disagree with the party and disagree with the guy i still feel like it should stay. If a majority consensus disagrees with me though, my weak keep may be dowgraded. - Reply - Would you be open to merging the content into this article? -bobby 17:38, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- Comment - I like the idea, but i am still reluctant to say i approve of the idea. I will watch the nominations play out and see where it goes. It is a good idea, but im still on the fence. Whatever happens, the content should be preserved somehow, whether through a merge or a save. (Dont get me wrong, i dont approve of this guy, or his party) Chris Kreider 17:43, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- Comment I find it troubling that you assume you know his intentions in running for office; whether he intends to win, to make a point, or both, it's irrelevant to whether this article should be kept. Dylan 16:06, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

- Keep. This man has appeared several times in the media, not only on local television but also on national television. Even if he is a perennial candidate with no realistic chance of winning, he is still a main figure in the U.S. Marijuana Party and rightfully deserves his place on Wikipedia. What's wrong with a little inclusionism for a man that has been around for a fair amount of time? eszetttalk 20:30, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- Keep, has appeared in more than enough stories about him to pass WP:BIO. Night Gyr (talk/Oy) 06:16, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
- Keep. My Dad voted for him in 2005. He's on the offical ballot in Hudson County NJ (don't know about the rest of the counties). Jporcaro 20:36, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
- Keep. He may be non-notable as a candidate, but is notable for other reasons (primarily, giving visibility to legal issues surrounding marijuana). -- Sholom 15:12, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- Keep-- He is on the ballot in many New Jersey counties. At least Hunterdon and Hudson. People have the right to obtain information about him regardless of anyone's own personal opinions of him. BodomBass 21:34, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- Keep. He has been featured on plenty of tv news interviews and has gotten 10000 votes when running for governor of new jersey. Plus he is a figure that has been on the news and in the public's eye more than once. --insertwackynamehere 03:37, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
- Keep -- very much a public figure, has run in a good handful of more-than-local elections. Dylan 16:05, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
- Keep -- He's also on the ballot in Middlesex county. Regardless, he is quite notable in the NJ/Philly area.--Cwawak 01:49, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
