[edit] Chris Carter (baseball)
Non-notable minor league baseball player, has not played in the major leagues, fails WP:BASEBALL. "Could" make the roster if a happens, and b happens, and if he's good enough in spring training. WP:CRYSTAL. Corvus cornix 18:34, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

- Keep. The guy as i can see was not bad in college. The references cover all the material un the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by M.V.E.i. (talk • contribs) 18:38, August 29, 2007 (UTC)
- Speedy Keep per WP:BIO "Competitors who have played in a fully professional league, or a competition of equivalent standing in a non-league sport such as swimming or tennis." WP:BASEBALL is not a Wikipedia policy.Smashville 18:59, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- Keep, passes WP:RS, WP:V, WP:N. Ten Pound Hammer • (Broken clamshells•Otter chirps•Review?) 19:03, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- Keep, meets WP:BIO standard of having played in a fully professional league. Kinston eagle 19:25, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- Speedy Keep not only passes WP:BIO, but I can also say without a doubt that reliable sources exist for him. He could even make the majors (which isn't a condition of WP:BIO) in 3 days or so. New England Review Me!/Go Red Sox! 20:01, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- Keep He has made some all-star teams in the minors which makes him notable. Someone really needs to work on that article though.. too much POV guess work about his future.. "he could be the starter next year..." yea, well.. so could lots of other people... Spanneraol 20:42, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- That was based on one of the sources (Boston.com, the Boston Globe's Website). New England Review Me!/Go Red Sox! 22:30, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- Keep. Minor league All-Stars are notable, and there's basically a 99% chance that Carter is going to go on the Red Sox's 40-man roster at the end of the year anyway (since he's a good prospect and would otherwise be eligible for the Rule 5 draft). -Hit bull, win steak(Moo!) 21:15, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- Delete Minor league baseball players are not all notable. The WP:BIO is a guideline, not law, and the "every player that has stepped on a field" guideline is much disputed. Dannycali 22:07, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- Weak Keep - Although I, personally, prefer a more meaty article for athletics, the article seems to meet article standards. It meets the WP:BIO requirements. TheInfinityZero 22:09, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- It will get meatier, I can assure of that. It was created last week after all. New England Review Me!/Go Red Sox! 22:30, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- Delete Minor League All-Star doesn't cut it for me, currently it's more or less a nn minor league player with crystal ball written all over it. Jaranda wat's sup 23:17, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- WP:BIO says other wise. New England Review Me!/Go Red Sox! 23:33, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- Comment We have been here before,-- the specific rules take precedence over the more general--that's why they were written. Otherwise there would be need for nothing besides WP:N. Specific guidelines can be changed. Utill they are changed they are in effect, but this of course does not mean a particular article cannot be notable in some particular way. That I cannot judge. - Please note that Jaranda (who voted to delete this article) removed the notability section from WP:BASEBALL earlier today. New England Review Me!/Go Red Sox! 00:23, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- Keep - Okay, he is not a major league player, but he appears to have been a pretty good college player on a very good college team, has been a good minor league player, and the article seems to meet article standards. It meets the WP:BIO requirements.John1951 02:18, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- Speedy Keep. Has made minor league All Star teams, and has terrific AAA stats. If we delete it now, we'll just be remaking it in a year or two. There is an article on Charlie Zink, who has never played a proffesional ball game. Kntrabssi 12:11, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- Aw, crap, I still have to clean that one up. -Hit bull, win steak(Moo!) 16:55, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- Keep passes WP:BIO Sasha Callahan 05:40, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
