[edit] Amanda (Buffyverse)
Non-notable minor recurring character who doesn't really deserve a place separate from Buffyverse Slayer timeline#Amanda as she is deceased, culturally insignificant (unlike say, Buffy or Willow) and will likely not appear in future episodes/comics as she has been killed off. ~ZytheTalk to me! 14:05, 11 May 2007 (UTC) ~ZytheTalk to me! 14:05, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. Minor character lacks independent reliable sources. Unreferenced except as OR of fan watching the program and writing down their observations and inferences. Pure fanspew. Edison 14:18, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- Keep. Despite what Zythe and Edison claim, Amanda, although a recurring character, is an important character, considered important enough to have received her own Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode, "Potential" and to factor into other episode storylines, when none of the other Potentials besides Kennedy received such treatment. Between her and Kennedy, those were two of the most important recurring characters during the show's seventh and final season; in fact, an article about Sarah Hagan in the February/March 2005 issue of the American version of Buffy Magazine considered Amanda as one of the most memorable of the Potentials, and a few excerpts from that article, stated by Hagan herself, illustrate that point:
-
- "I felt like I was one of the more known Potentials, the one who got a little more to do than other people, besides Kennedy...
-
- "I killed that vampire all by myself and all those other girls were sitting there training...
-
- "...no other big Potential really died in ("Chosen") except for me...They wanted one Potential who had the most impact on the audience to die—I guess they wanted people to be affected. (They thought that some of) the other girls dying wouldn't have as much of an impact on the audience."
-
- By comparison, Amy Madison, another recurring character who factored into episode plotlines, appeared in fewer episodes than Amanda has, yet she has her own Wikipedia article and a spot on the Buffyverse template. Of all the Potentials who appeared in the seventh season, aside from Kennedy, Amanda (as proven by the Buffy Magazine article) was the one who stood out the most and has sufficient depth to her, so that warrants Amanda being able to have her own Wikipedia article. - Amy Madison is a major character (a Big Bad) in Buffy Season Eight still. She had a presence over the entire run f the series too.~ZytheTalk to me! 11:06, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

- Delete No sources to indicate real world significance. According to WP:FICT that is how the difference between major and minor character is decided, and minor characters do not get their own articles. Jay32183 02:31, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
- In amendment of my original vote, rather than delete the article altogether, I think its text should be merged into the Amanda section in Minor characters of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, this way the gist of the text is not lost. Starbuck-2 02:49, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
- That makes sense.~ZytheTalk to me! 11:06, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, as long as most of the text is not deleted, there is no need for her to have her own article. Her article is not long. -- Noneofyourbusiness 20:13, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
