- Keep there are a lot of these articles in biology that can easily be expanded or redirected. - I don't have time to expand this article but a possible solution is to redirect to the lac operon article and incorperate a paragraph on the significance of adaptive enzymes on that page. Ideally it might touch on the developmental aspects of this too i.e. if cells all have the same gene how can they differentiate into different cell types. The lac operon was fundamental in helping scientists under stand gene regulation from a developmental perspective as well as from a more adaptive response. David D. 19:59, 1 August 2005 (UTC)
