A final not notable enough to have its own article, delete or possibly merge usable content into Rangers F.C. and Dynamo Moscow. -- Elisson • Talk 23:01, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

• Delete, I wouldn't like to have an article for every final match played for all football competitions ever (Cup Winners' Cup was abolished a few years ago). --Angelo 23:12, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

• Keep No matter how long ago it was, it's the final of one of the major European club competitions, and should at least be linked to from the Cup Winners Cup article, from the list of finals there (I'm assuming there is one.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Keeno (talk • contribs)

  How does that make it notable? There are some matches that truly deserve their own articles, such as the 1966 World Cup Final, the Jahrhundertspiel or the England v Hungary (1953) match, but what is so special about this CWC final that it deserves its own article? -- Elisson • Talk 00:07, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

  Comment Usually I'm not a deletionist, but, really, IMHO it is quite stupid to make articles of every final match. Just relevant ones, like the 1966 world cup final, and, for example, Italy-Germany 4-3 (1970 world cup semifinal, considered among the most amusing matches ever). • Keep and improve. I wouldn't want people creating articles for run-of-the-mill league matches, but European finals are notable enough to have their own articles. • Keep as it is. Individual articles are more flexible for linking and categorising. It's already in Rangers' category and the Moscow club will probably have its own category some time. The Rangers article will get far too large and will not be able to contain all the content about the history of Rangers. Rangers F.C. already has an article size warning, so things need to be taken out, not added in. The coverage of the history of Manchester United already runs to 6 large articles.
