Backdoor dialing is a service available for communication between phone providers. It bypasses tradionally means of making phone calls, by making it possible to skip a phone providers internal communication system, and deliver directly to a customer. This can greatly reduce the cost of making phone calls, by using cheap teknologi like voip to call directly to the customer.

David Patchen (b. New Rochelle, NY, resides in San Francisco, CA, U.S.) is an American glass artist glass artist who is receiving increasing attention for his works utilizing the technically advanced Italian techniques of cane and murrine in a uniquely American style. (Cane are colored and patterned glass rods, murrine are highly patterned cross-sections of glass 'tiles'.) Patchen's work is known primarily for a combination of complexity and scale in some of the most intricately patterned work currently being created. His work is in many private collections, featured in publications, juried shows and galleries internationally.

Originally from New York, David Patchen studied at Public Glassin San Francisco, at the studio of Afro Celotto, maestro and former assistant to Lino Tagliapietra (internationally-known contemporary master) in Murano, Italy, and at Pilchuck Glass School on an artistic merit scholarship. He has assisted world-reknowned artists including Afro Celotto and Marvin Lipofskly in creating their work.

Patchen's series include forms titled Resistenza, Foglio and Parabola, which are created in either complex murrine or the simpler mixed cane and murrine.

Patchen is actively involved in the glass arts community in San Francisco as Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Directors at Public Glass and is a former member of the Board of Directors, Glass Alliance of Northern California.

Work utilizing murrine and complex cane from the "Resistenza" series. Pieces by David Patchen are often over three feet in height.

The dictionary says reality is the fact of being real, existing or actual. If you put an A in front of a word, it means the opposite: not reality or without. Going to the web, the dictionary of the 21st Century, (as well as being many other things in life today) and looking up areality yielded fascinating results including numerous websites, "shared quirks & ancient arealities". With the advent of "The Reality Show" phenomena on television, the concept of reality has begun to resemble a Luis Borges or Gabriel Marquis surreal novel more than it does everyday life and like areality, begins to embody two senses. To believe something to be real, if we weren’t there to see it, requires some kind of evidence and even then, it still might not be real or true. Even before electronic media that was true, but now, even more so. No longer is a photograph, or a document necessarily proof. Neither is the re-telling by an eye-witness necessarily proof, since each witness might, and usually does, see a different reality. Movies & politics have made reality even more ambiguous than existential philosophers once thought it to be. Consider the "Spin" on news and reportage as it today. Artists now, more than ever, have the power to change their interpretation of or the appearance of reality. In the 19th century it was trompe l'oeil painters, in the 20th century, photo-realists. Now, digital photography can make a painting a photo and vise versa.

Foinikounda or Foinikouda is a small town located 10km east of Methoni.

Finikounda is mentioned for the first time in Pausanias Messiniaka (4, 34, 12) as a port after Cape Akritas. It is believed that it was a small commercial port where the fishers of murex frunculus (a porphyry shell from where the known dye is produced) could trade their product. The origin of the name also has to do with the ancient Phoenicians whose trade routes came through this natural port. The contemporary village appears at about 1840-1850, from the inhabitants of Lahanada, immigrants from Crete, who started building their houses on this location. It was also called Taverna, from a small tavern that someone kept there. Officially, it got its contemporary name in 1930. Today it is part of the Municipality of Methoni. The main resources of the inhabitants are agriculture and tourism, whish has flourished in the last few years

Foinikounta has a big rivalry with the neighbor village called Lachanada. This rivalry is mainly expressed in the local football (soccer) games. Lachanda has not lost from Foinikounta during the last 10 years , with their biggest victory being 10-0 .

Even though Finikunda is mainly thought of as a place to relax by the sea and be part of the joyous night life, it also has noted cultural activity. The cultural club always hosts a theatrical play or other event in the small open amphitheatre by the port, and during the whole summer, there is a book exhibition with a variety of books to choose from.

Jodi Explodi is a punk/80's metal band from southern Maine. If NOFX and Iron Maiden had a demon child Jodi Explodi would be it. The band formed in 2002 in Old Orchard Beach playing songs about drinking and dirty socks. Their first album to be released came out in the fall of 2003 "Creatures of the Tight..." and followed it up with a bunch of shows up the east coast and creating a good buzz and even getting a nomination for best punk band in the Portland Pheonix's "Best music poll 2003" and "Best music poll 2004". The band stayed on the New England's Top Ten Local artist selling list for over a year. Then in 2005 the band got together with their friends; "Minatory" a fast fun energetic punk band from Newfeild, NH, and created the "Have You Seen This Man?" split. Only after a short return to the New England's Top Ten Local artist selling list they decided it was time to regroup and reinvent themselves by creating a concept album. In 2006 Jodi Explodi created a demo that would be released, the ep was titled "Demo-Arigato" and was not sold but given away. Not to long after the begening stages of development of the full length concept album, their long time friend and bass player Pete Bourgeois left the band to persue his career in the United States Airforce. After a short break the band bounced back and took to another bassist to fill Pete' shoes(not an easy task). Now it 2008 they are hard at work in the studio creating what is beleived to be the greatest musical master peice of all time!

A.J. Bailey is an american born soccer player who grew up in Midland, Mi. He began playing soccer at the age of 11 and immediately showed promise. His game improved as he played against older players and learned more about the game. He went on to play for several traveling teams and eventually played varsity soccer at Midland high school where he won the covetted "Chemic Pride" award and was offered several college scholarships. Due to finacial reasons he choose to stay close to home and in the summer following his freshman year of college was severly injured and could not play collegiate soccer. A.J. currently resides in Mount Pleasant, Mi, and still continues to play soccer.

The ComLynx is an accessory for the Atari Lynx and it is used to connect the system to up to 18 other consoles. Both most games have a maximum of consoles. At first plans were to use infrared but later on they decided to use a cable. One of the games to use the ComLynx was Malibu Bikini Volleyball, it allows you to play a match of volleyball simultaneously with up to 4 friends.

MagicDisc is a freeware CD/DVD-ROM emulation software. As of this writing, January 2008, it is the only non-SPTD (link to Wikipedia article on SCSI Pass Through Direct) tool of its kind available for Windows XP x64 Edition (link to the corresponding Wikipedia article). Similar tools that support Windows XP x64 Edition are Alcohol 100%, Alcohol 52%, and Daemon-Tools (links to respective articles) which depend on the SCSI Pass Through Direct driver, sptd.sys, provided by Duplex Secure (link to Wikipedia article on the company), notorious for causing various problems and being particularly hard to remove, due to unusual permissions on Windows Registry (link to article) keys.

MagicDisc supports up to 15 virtual drives, compared to Alcohol 52% Free Edition's 31. Its main points of strength are independence of the notorious third-party SPTD driver, rather small memory and download (1.24 MB download) footprint, (zero) price, simple installation (WISE installer system), and availability for x64 Windows systems.

MagicDisc works through its own virtual SCSI Host Controller (mcdbus.sys). The installation does not require a reboot and the virtual drive will be functioning straight after the process. User interface is minimal and comprised of a tray icon in the notification area of Windows taskbar and the associated pop-up menu.

MagicDisc is currently in version 2.5 (Build 79) released on on 12/08/2007 according to the vendor MagicISO, Inc.

By the way, if Daemon-Tools or Alcohol or Nero deserve their respective articles, this one does, too. It MagicDisc (being a piece of software) does not deserve a Wikipedia article, then so do other software of the same genre.

I was born in Cheshire and brought up in Lancashire – apart from a two-year stint in Brussels, Belgium – until I left home to study Economics at Cardiff University in Wales. I have no idea why I chose to study Economics, a subject in which I have little interest and no ability, and after a year I realized that I wanted to be a writer. I decided to switch to a degree in English. This necessitated going to night school to do an ‘A’ level, encouraged along the way by the poet and academic John Freeman.

After gaining my ‘A’ level at night school I started an English Literature degree at Birmingham University, and the main thing on my mind from start to finish was to become as accomplished as possible in writing poetry and prose. I was lucky to be encouraged by the poet Steve Ellis, then a senior lecturer at the university, who kept an eye on my progress. By the time I graduated from Birmingham, I’d started to write poems in the voice I still have today, though it would be more than fifteen years before I had a collection published.

The day after my finals finished, I sat down to write my first novel, and completed the first draft in six weeks – this seems incredible to me now, when I spend six months researching and planning before even contemplating the writing of a draft. After I’d revised the book I sent it to an agent – who took it on, but failed to sell it. That book found three literary agents over the years, but none succeeded in selling it. I carried on writing novels and poetry through various periods of work and no-work – I owe thanks to my parents who often bailed me out at different times. Failing to get published, I became a lexicographer and editor.

I became obsessed with writing sonnets – an obsession that I suspect I’ll have until I die – and I still feel that the best sonnets of Robert Frost and E.A. Robinson are the finest modern poems I have ever read. And I wrote six novels. I landed a lot of agents and had many near-misses with publication. Finally, when I was 40 and had started to fear that I was never going to achieve publication, I was taken on by Alma Books, who encouraged me to develop my ideas for the novel White Man Falling. After publication of the book in 2006, it was a great pleasure to me and the publisher that we won the Goss First Novel Award. Alma Books have also published my collection of sonnets, Folly, under their Herla imprint. I doubt there’ll be another collection from me for at least ten years – poems come slowly, and the really good ones are few and far between.

After Birmingham I moved to London, and after London – interspersed with long trips to India, where one can live cheaply for long writing spells – I moved to Edinburgh, where I'm still based. Greenpower is an electric car racing series for UK schools and organisations. The series aims to promote engineering and technology careers to those aged 9-21. Staff and students build vehicles to compete in one of three racing formulas.

The original Greenpower racing formula, secondary school teams build cars based around a standard 24v electric motor and 2 x 12v lead acid batteries to a set of regulations which are designed to produce close and safe racing.

Teams compete in regional heats around the country. Each heat lasts 4 hours and the winner is the car that travels the furthest during that time. Each car has a total of 4 batteries available (two pairs) with no charging. At least 5 student drivers must drive during the race and all pit stops and battery changes are carried out by the students. The top 3 cars from each heat qualify for the national final, held each year at Goodwood motor circuit.

A new formula for 2008, cars are built to the same specification as the formula 24 cars but are run by engineering and motorsport teams working with schools or colleges. Cars compete in a series of regional heats gathering points towards the championship.
