Whatcom Community College is a public community college serving an average of 7,016 students each quarter (3,485 full time equivalent students). The College, which is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, offers associate degrees in academic transfer, general studies, and professional/technical areas, as well as opportunities to complete high school, or take classes for personal enrichment. The college also has special programs to assist students in acquiring learning skills necessary for academic and occupational success.
The College offers day and evening classes in new, attractive, and up-to-date facilities. Classes average 25-35 students, allowing more individual attention from faculty.

The College's main campus is located in Bellingham, Washington. This area, well known for its natural beauty, is nestled between majestic Mt. Baker and Puget Sound providing many recreational opportunities. Seattle and Vancouver, Canada, are within one to one and one-half hours driving time. Whatcom Community College offers a variety of programs for students seeking to obtain a Degree, Certificate or Short-Term Training Endorsement.
Associates in Arts and Sciences:
This degree is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year college/university and is generally accepted as fulfilling the General Education Requirements for most Washington State four-year schools.
Associate in Liberal Studies:
This degree is designed for students who wish to receive recognition for completion of 90 credits of general college-level learning.
Associate in Science:
This degree offers a common core with a variety of science majors. The degree will be accepted at most 4-year public & private universities in the state of Washington. Check with the university to which you are planning to transfer.
High School Diploma:
The High School Completion program is a continuous enrollment program offering high school level classes to a diverse population of students. Students work at their own pace with individual guidance from instructors.
Individualized Degree Program:
Students have the opportunity to play a major role in designing a degree or certificate program tailored to meet their individual needs by enrolling in the Individualized Degree Program (IDP).
Professional/Technical Programs:
Students can complete an Associate Degree, a Certificate or a Short-Term Training Endorsement that is designed to prepare the student for employment upon completion.
